From corporate reports requiring polished, precise language to research abstracts demanding clarity and concision, I focus on improving grammar, structure, and readability while preserving the author’s intent. Each before-and-after comparison highlights how I transform text into clear, professional, and impactful communication suited for its target audience.

Corporate Report Editing

Sample 1 – Annual Performance Report
Purpose: Edited a 15-page annual performance report for grammar, flow, and readability.

  • Before: “The company have invested in several project which was not aligned with the long term strategic vision.”

  • After: “The company invested in several projects that were not aligned with its long-term strategic vision.”

 

Sample 2 – Financial Overview Report
Purpose: Edited a financial report section to improve clarity and tone.

  • Before: “Revenue is being projected to rise about 8% but cost management strategies is not yet fully operationalized.”

  • After: “Revenue is projected to rise by approximately 8%, but cost management strategies are not yet fully operational.”

 

Sample 3 – Corporate Strategy Report
Purpose: Improved sentence structure and style in a corporate strategy document.

  • Before: “Management are believing the initiative will provide better outcome, but details are still lacking and communication gaps are existing.”

  • After: “Management believes the initiative will deliver stronger outcomes, but details remain incomplete and communication gaps persist.”

 

Sample 4 – Sustainability Report
Purpose: Edited a sustainability report to align with professional corporate language.

  • Before: “The organization tries to make progress on environmental goal, but there are many difficulties which slows it down.”

  • After: “The organization is making progress toward its environmental goals, though several challenges continue to slow progress.”

Research Abstract Proofreading

Sample 1 – Social Sciences Abstract
Purpose: Proofread and edited an abstract for a sociology research study.

  • Before: “This research attempt to describe how urban development are creating inequality in the city population.”

  • After: “This research examines how urban development contributes to inequality within city populations.”

 

Sample 2 – Medical Research Abstract
Purpose: Proofread an abstract for a clinical study.

  • Before: “The trial was design to test effect of the new drug on heart patient, but data collection was inconsistent.”

  • After: “The trial was designed to test the effects of the new drug on cardiac patients, though data collection proved inconsistent.”

 

Sample 3 – Environmental Studies Abstract
Purpose: Edited an environmental research abstract for clarity and concision.

  • Before: “Researchers was looking at the effect of pollution in river systems, but methodology was not properly explain.”

  • After: “Researchers examined the effects of pollution on river systems, though the methodology was not clearly explained.”

 

Sample 4 – Economics Research Abstract
Purpose: Proofread an abstract for an economics paper.

  • Before: “The study was aiming to demonstrate how inflation affect consumer spending, however the results show mixed signal.”

  • After: “The study aimed to demonstrate how inflation affects consumer spending; however, the results presented mixed signals.”
